In the mid-eighties, sheltering from the late afternoon heat under a river gum in South Australia’s Adelaide Hills, three feminist friends in their mid-forties began to discuss what it meant to get older.
In the mid-1990s a group shared their experiences at Ten Forty dinner and discussion evenings. Their stories were recorded on tape and now we’ve made them into a podcast.

The site originally catered for women in the Sydney area, but over the years, olderdykes.org has grown beyond its original borders to embrace women from all over Australia and internationally.
